The Heritage Garden Club met on August 2 at Barb Andrus’s Water Garden. There was good attendance and it was a beautiful evening outside. Refreshments were served during the opening presentation.
The guest speaker at the meeting was Greg Veleker from Towanda who gave a wonderful presentation on the care of Bonsai. Greg brought some of his collection and gave very informative tips and demonstrations of Bonsai.
Judy Warn, club president resident, conducted the meeting as usual. New business included plans for the Fall Heritage Festival and the annual bake and craft.
The streetscape flower baskets are looking better since the club increased the watering. A special thanks is extended to the boy scouts for helping with the watering of the baskets. The Garden Club has also brought in Tonyia Schrader to help out. The fall plans for the street baskets were also discussed.
The meeting was concluded, with the next meeting scheduled for Sept. 5 at Mary Alice Bower’s home on Redington Avenue. All meetings are the first Monday of the month, and all are welcome to join.
