Girls From Ames discussed at County Library

The monthly book discussion at the Bradford County Library will be held at 1p.m. on Sept. 21. The Girls from Ames by Jeffrey Zaslow is the account of a 40 year friendship among eleven women who grew up in Ames, Iowa.

The author pieced the memories of the women, their scrapbooks and photo albums, their diaries and journals, to demonstrate how the power of friendship shaped their lives. Zaslow, recognized as the co-author of The Last Lecture, states that he envies the ability of women to form such lasting and close bonds. The girls from Ames have received hundreds of contacts on their website located at girlsfromames.com, and welcome phone contacts from book groups.

The discussion, open to all readers, before or after reading this title, includes lively observations and lovely refreshments at the County Library located on Route 6 in Burlington. For more information, call 297-2436.
