Local EMS agencies to host free flu clinics

In cooperation with local nurses and the Bradford County Health Department, Greater Valley EMS and Western Alliance EMS will be hosting two free Flu Vaccine Clinics.

The first clinic will be held on Nov. 8 from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Vaccinations will be provided free of charge at the Canton Senior Center, 6 East Tioga St. in Canton. The second clinic will be held on the same day at the Western Alliance EMS office located at 430 Canton St. in Troy from 1 to 5 p.m.

Vaccinations are free and will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. No appointments will be accepted. The Department of Health and Human Services recommends the seasonal flu vaccine for all children six months and older and all adults who are at risk of complications from influenza.

Saturday’s Flu Vaccine clinic is open to children and adults, age four and up. This vaccine is provided to Greater Valley EMS free of charge by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. For more information regarding this clinic, call the Western Alliance EMS office toll free at 1-800-297-1235.
