Again this year, the Wellsboro branch office of Citizens & Northern Bank will be collecting gifts for local children. The annual “Angel Tree” initiative assists Northern Tier Helping Hands in providing warm clothing and toys for local families in need. The branch’s goal this year is to help fifty children from Tioga and Bradford Counties.
The public may participate by visiting the local office at 90-92 Main St. on or after Dec. 1 and taking a tag from the Angel Tree. Each tag has a wish list for clothing and toys. Participants will then shop for their child and return the unwrapped gifts to the local office by Dec. 12.
“Our C&N employees have been very generous in the past by shopping for our local children. This year the need is greater than ever, which is why we’re inviting the public to participate,” said Carol Scranton, C&N Wellsboro office customer service representative and Angel Tree coordinator.
Northern Tier Helping Hands consists of volunteers from all parts of Bradford and Tioga Counties who have come together to help provide for local children and families. The organization is supported by donations and fund raisers, with all funds returned to the local communities. Northern Tier Helping Hands’ mission is “to reach out to families in Bradford & Tioga Counties with a “Helping Hand” and a heart full of love during the early fall season with Back to School Supplies and especially at Christmas time helping with Gifts for Children.” More information on Northern Tier Helping Hands can be found on their website at www.nthelpinghands.org.
