Submission deadline approaching for BCRAC’s 2017 Endless Mountains Film Festival

The submission deadline for the Bradford County Regional Arts Council’s (BCRAC’s) 2017 Endless Mountains Film Festival is fast approaching – all films must be received, in electronic or hard copy, by 4 p.m. on Friday July 21. Winning films will be screened at the Festival Awards Ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 12, at 4:00 p.m. at the Sayre Theatre in Sayre, Pa.

“We are looking for aspiring filmmakers of all ages to submit works to the festival,” says Rory Gaughan, BCRAC program director and festival coordinator.

He added, “There are talented people in our region, and beyond, whose films deserve a chance to be seen by an audience. We encourage them to send us their entries so we can feature these works.”

Each film will be reviewed by a panel of judges who will make their decisions based on the originality, creativity, and technical skills demonstrated by the filmmaker. The top films in each category will be awarded a cash prize and will be shown in their entirety at the Festival Awards Ceremony. At the panel’s discretion, certain films may be granted “official selection” status, and made available online for public viewing. Portions of other entries will be shown in a montage reel at the festival.

Films will be accepted in the following categories: Youth – ages 15 and under, eight minutes or less; Adult – ages 16 and up, 20 minutes or less; and Aspiring – ages 18 and up, up to 45 minutes.

Comedy or drama films must have a discernible plot. Documentary films must be about a real-life subject; and the film must have the intent to document an event or subject, or inform the audience of a subject or topic. Films must remain within the length requirement, and have language and subject matter appropriate to a general audience.

Submissions are subject to a $15 fee. Filmmakers in the Youth and Adult categories must reside within 100 miles of Towanda, Pa. The Aspiring category is open to all filmmakers from anywhere.

Each film must be accompanied by a submission form, which may be accessed on the BCRAC website,, by clicking on the festival logo; or by calling the BCRAC office at (570) 268-ARTS (2787). Additional information on the festival can also be found by clicking the logo or by contacting Rory Gaughan at the BCRAC office.

Submissions will be accepted on DVD, flash drive, and online through the Dropbox link on the website.
