On Oct. 17, the Bradford County Conservation District (BCCD), in partnership with Claverack Rural Electric Inc., will be facilitating a public seminar on the history, former uses, ecological importance, threats to, and restoration efforts associated with the American chestnut tree in Bradford County.
This seminar will take place at Claverack’s new public education conference room that has been added on to their existing building in Wysox.
Join them as Dan Rhodes, the education coordinator for BCCD, shares many historical photos, information, and personal experiences associated with his efforts to return this once all-important tree to its former prevalence in the area.
Space is limited to 50 for this workshop, so you must RSVP in advance to make sure you will have a seat. The workshop will run from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the evening of Oct. 17.
