PA Apple & Cheese Festival winners announced

The organizers of the PA Apple & Cheese Festival recently announced the 2017 Fine Art and Photo Show winners.

In adult fine art, the winners were BiBi Brion of Liberty, with first place for “When the Fog Burns Off”; Randy Owen of Mansfield, with second place for “Samuel”; and Sadie Allen of Granville Summit for third place with “Opossum Party”. Best of Show went to Owen for “Skeddadle”.

In teen fine art, Hannah Corson of New Albany placed first with “Riderless Horse” and Sophie Williams of Troy placed second with “Everybody’s Got a Pulse”. Andy Rosenberger of Athens placed third with “The Hedge Row” and Sophie Williams received the Agnes Salmon Memorial Award.

In youth fine art, Leah Banzhaf of Williamsport placed first with “Buzz”; Isabel Schoonover of Canton placed second with “Solitude”; and Gracie Finch of Canton placed third with “The Duality of a Dancer”. Leah Banzhaf of Williamsport received the Agnes Salmon Memorial Award.

Teen Fine Art People’s Choice, “Riderless Horse”, by Hannah Corson of New Albany.

In adult photography, Connor Creighton of Lewisburg placed first with “Green Glass”, Colin Gillette of Milan placed second with “Spring Beauty”, and Angela Schoonover of Canton placed third with “Refraction”. 

In black and white, Sheila Hagemeyer of Montoursville placed first with “Winter Cherry”, Vanesa Pierce of Ulster placed second with “Everyday Hero”, and Katie Garber of Montoursville placed third with “Hand in Hand”. Colin Gillette of Milan was awarded Best of Show for “Gray Tree Frog”.

In teen photography, first place went to Adrian Haluska of Pine City, N.Y. for “Passing Time”; second place went to Emerald Walker of Troy for “Sniffles”; and Esther Taylor of Troy placed third with “Morning Rain”.

In youth photography, Isabel Schoonover of Canton placed first with “Flight”; Grey Haluska of Pine City, N.Y. placed second with “Garden Candy”; and Olivia Haluska of Pine City, N.Y. placed third with “Hidden Valley”.

Adult honorable mentions went to Carrie Bosch of Williamsport for “Tumultuous and Nikki Feaster of Ralston for “Country Sun Flower Still Life”.

Teen honorable mentions went to Emerald Walker of Troy for “Webbed” and Adrian Haluska of Pine City, N.Y. for “Falling Water”.

Youth honorable mentions went to Grey Haluska of Pine City, N.Y. for “Autumn Eve” and Andrew Kelsall of Rome for “Pretty in Purple”.

Adult Fine Art honorable mentions went to Lisa Darrow Eagleberger of Canton for “Lavender Iris”, Carol Vanderpool of Waverly, N.Y. for “Summer Scarf”, and Ed Steinhilper of Williamsport for “Frozen Marsh”.

Teen Fine Art honorable mentions went to Theresa Beers of Canton for “Special Sparkle”, Andy Rosenberger of Athens for “The Log”, and Josiah Gleckner of Canton for “Snowball”.

Youth Fine Art honorable mentions went to Mackenzie Chaaple of Canton for “Under the Sea”, Rachell Kelsall of Rome for “Howling Mountain”, and Kailyn Sterling of Gillett for “Peaceful Stream”.

The winners of the People’s Choice were also announced and are pictured.

 

The adult winners were sponsored by Citizens & Northern Bank and received $50 each. Teens and Youth were sponsored by MR Dirt of Towanda, and received $25 each.
