Armed Forces Day to honor veterans and their families

The Troy VFW Post 8675 and the American Legion Post 49 will again host an Armed Forces Day Chicken Barbecue. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, May 19 at the Troy Vets Club, located at 183 Veteran Dr. in Troy. 

This is a no cost affair for veterans and their family members. The doors will open at noon and food will be served at 2 p.m. Wiggle 100 will provide music for the event.

The VFW Pennsylvania Assistant Department Service Officer will be available to assist in filing VA claims and with any questions guests might have. The Bradford County Director of Veterans Affairs will also attend and brief guests on the services of his office.

The group will also conduct a special ceremony, entitled “The Meaning of Flag-Folding Program”.
