Taylor Acorn will be performing at this year’s Tioga County Fair on Aug. 11, for two shows at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Seats are $10 per show, and tickets are available at the fair’s website, TiogaCountyFair.com.
When Taylor Acorn won the Twin Tiers Idol competition in 2011, she set herself on the path to becoming the next country music sensation. From an early age her love of music took hold and by the time she was a teenager she knew she wanted to make it a career.
An alum of Wellsboro’s class of 2012, Acorn learned to play guitar through YouTube, and used that platform to hone her musical talents by posting videos of herself playing and singing cover songs by some of her favorite singers like Ed Sheeran and Sam Hunt.
In writing her own music, she wants the words to be honest and true. By pulling raw emotion straight from her heart, her lyrics give fans that direct connection to feel what she feels.
In perfecting her style, which has been labeled by some as a new brand of pop country, the country music world has started to take notice. Once Acorn moved to Nashville and got an agent, she has been busy crossing the country to sing at various venues and events, and is being interviewed at every opportunity.
Named by Billboard as one of the 15 most promising musicians to likely see some major breakthroughs in 2018, Taylor Acorn has already opened for some of the hottest rising stars in country such as Chase Bryant, Adam Craig and Old Dominion.
Her debut EP, Put It In A Song, has garnered over 1.5 million streams on Pandora and is also available on Spotify, iTunes, and Amazon.
The Tioga County Fair is being held on Aug. 6 to 11 in Wellsboro, Pa. For more information on the fair, and to view a full schedule of events, visit tiogacountyfair.com/about-us/directions.html.
