Doris Day Animal Foundation provides grant to You Too Animal Rescue

The Doris Day Animal Foundation (DDAF,, a national non-profit organization founded by the legendary actress and animal welfare advocate, has provided a grant to You Too Animal Rescue of Towanda, Pennsylvania, to support their animal rescue work and spay / neuter efforts.

“When we learned about You Too Animal Rescue, their recent difficulties, and their work assisting animals in need in the Towanda, Pa. area, we knew we wanted to help,” Miss Day said from her home in Carmel, Calif.

She added, “DDAF funds 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organizations helping animals and the people who love them. The founders and volunteers at You Too Animal Rescue are doing good work, and we’re proud to be able to support their efforts.”

“The grant will help finance our work rescuing cats and kittens,” says Chloe Lantzy of You Too Animal Rescue.

Lantzy added, “We have been inundated with requests for help since our incorporation in 2014 and strive to match the needs of the strays within the community. This year in particular, as we establish our own center, we especially can use the funding supplied. The timing of a grant to be applied towards a portion of our vet bills has provided us with leeway as we reach further into our pockets to cover the additional costs of running a rescue center. We usually spend almost $30,000 yearly on vetting alone.”

With the simple and straightforward mission of helping animals and those who love them, Doris Day Animal Foundation provides funding to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations for animal welfare work with specific low-overhead programs, including animal rescue, lifetime care for search and rescue dogs, helping people care for their animals, assisting with care for horses, paying for spay / neuter and other animal-related needs.

Additional grants have provided funding for college scholarships at UC Davis, rescue efforts for marine mammals, Kevlar vests for service dogs, greyhound rescue, wild mustang rescue, reduced adoption fees for seniors adopting senior pets, wildlife sanctuary assistance, and feral cat TNR programs, to name but a few.

You Too Animal Rescue is a 501-(c)-3 non-profit organization whose Mission Statement is as follows: You Too Animal Rescue is dedicated to reducing the suffering of cats and dogs that are abandoned, abused, neglected, sick or unwanted by promoting spaying and neutering and assisting others in providing these animals with a permanent home in a safe, nurturing environment.
