Carl and Opal Schlappi will provide the “Special Music” at the Standing Stone Community Vesper Church at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 12.
Carl and Opal reside at 1105 Tallow Bottom Rd., near Muncy, Pa. They are both retired, Opal as an administrator at the Allenwood Federal Prison Camp and Carl as a High School Principal in Williamsport, Pa. They are the proud parents of eight children, grandparents of 14 grandchildren, and great-grandparents of eight great-grandchildren.

Both Opal and Carl write music. Several summers ago Carl joined the Mc Nett Country Band and Opal is one of the four callers for the Square Dances for them and also Opal will set in for the base if needed. Carl has played with many known entertainers.
They enjoy entertaining at nursing homes, hospitals, churches, and special events. They sing and play “Old Time Gospel” music as well as comedy and story songs.
They have been playing music together for 46 years, and will be celebrating 47 years of marriage on Sept. 1, 2018. Their program also requires singing from the audience, so be prepared to sing some old hymns and other songs that you might not have sung in a while.
Faith Jaynes is organist, Carol O’Brien is pianist, and Rev. Terry Parks is the speaker for the evening. All are welcome to attend!
The church is located on River Road in Wysox. Services are held every Sunday at 7 p.m.
