The Wyoming County Players recently discussed plans for two fall fundraisers that are geared for a fun day with the family.
A Rootin’ Tootin’ Road Rally will commence on Sunday, Sept. 30 from 3 to 5 p.m. Teams of four for cars or two for motorcycles will compete as they travel throughout the county searching for clues, deciphering directions and figuring out puzzles.
Contestants will start and finish the rally at the Starlite Playhouse, 602 Hunter Highway, Tunkhannock, where a delicious supper awaits and winners can boast bragging rights in this first annual event.
Teams must register by Sept. 23 by calling (570) 836-6986 or emailing email@example.com. The fee is $10.00 per person, and includes the rally and supper.
Oct. 13 is the date for their 5th annual Harvest Hoedown. The Friendship Squares from Danville and the Country Twirlers from Selinsgrove will offer square dance lessons and perform for attendees with Nicholson resident, Dave Taylor, as caller.
Rose Lubinski of the Nativity Sassy Strutters will be on hand to teach line dance lessons and all are encouraged to join in.
The Whipple Dancers, ages three and up, will present “Down on the Farm” to show off their dancing chops.
All are invited to enter a Chili Contest, which can be enjoyed for supper along with seasonal salads and desserts.
The event runs from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Starlite Playhouse and the cost is $10.00 per person, $7.00 for children 12 and under and includes lessons and supper.
