The First Presbyterian Church Chancel Choir will provide the special music at the Standing Stone Community Vesper Church on Sunday, Oct. 7, at 6 p.m. (note that this is a new time).
The First Presbyterian Church Chancel Choir is a group of singers who love to sing praises and share the Word and message of Christ the Lord. They welcome friends and those who like to sing to join them in harmonizing as they rehearse every Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. through October, and Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. for the rest of the year in preparation for Sunday morning worship services and other seasonal offerings at Christmas and in the spring.
The choir will be singing a variety of anthems Sunday evening that praise and glorify God.
Choir members and friends singing at the Vesper Church include: Sopranos – Brenda Abbott, Amy Carr, Emily Carr, Joyce Hinkson, Rhea Johnston, Holly Keegan, Sharon Pavey and Deb Wollenberg; Alto – Norma Bacon, Linda Ferrario, Marguerite Fox-Picou, Virginia McPherson, Lynn Mitchell, Nancy Neilson, Julie O’Donnell and Wanda Stahl; Tenors – Brian Daly, Paul DeWitt, Peg Durnin, Ray Fleming, Lee Stahl and Dick Walsh; Basses – Jesse Bacon, Steve Homet, Craig Wollenberg and Jerry Young.
The choir is under the direction of Judy Douglas, and Jody Stroud is the accompanist. Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church is Rachel Stahl.

At the Vespers Church, Faith Jaynes is organist, Carol O’Brien is pianist, and Rev. Terry Parks will be the speaker.
The remaining two Services will be held Nov. 18, and their Christmas service will be held on Dec. 9.
