The Annual Fall Choral Collage will be presented on Sunday, Oct. 14, at 2:30 p.m. in Mansfield University’s Steadman Theatre.
The Choral Collage features five campus choral ensembles in their first major performance of the season: Grace Notes, Steadmen, Chamber Singers, Festival Chorus, and Concert Choir.
Peggy Dettwiler, director of Choral Activities, will conduct the program. The Choral Collage will feature a wide variety of choral repertoire with works from the Baroque through to the 21st century. Highlights include a barbershop chorus with the Steadmen, a hilarious Celtic song, “Finnan Haddie,” about a smelly fish, and a rousing Gospel anthem.
The Festival Chorus will perform a movement from the spring major work, “Gloria” by Antonio Vivaldi, and the Concert Choir will perform selections by women composers in preparation for their Carnegie Hall concert in January 2019.
