JANUARY

Walking Program, Troy High School Gymnasium; held Monday through Friday on the days that school is in session. The gym is open from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. Walk at your own pace in a safe environment. Admission is free and all are welcome.

Celebrate Recovery will be held at 6 p.m. every Friday at The Pathway Ministry Center, 105 Main St., Towanda. Celebrate Recovery is for anyone struggling with alcohol and drug issues. Please come to this totally free event. Celebrate Recovery is based on 12 steps and eight principles; learn about these important steps and principles every week. Please come if you are struggling and need support and encouragement.   

Caregivers’ Support Group, sponsored by the Law Office of Leslie Wizelman and the B/S/S/T Area Agency on Aging, will meet at noon the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at The Wellness Room, 3rd floor of the Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital Personal Care Home in Towanda. Anyone taking care of a family member or loved one, be it at home or as a resident of a long-term care facility are welcome. The Guitar Club at the Sayre Christian Church will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. every Monday at 427 S. Keystone Ave., Sayre. Beginners are encouraged to arrive at 5:30 p.m. All levels of experience welcome, as well as other stringed instruments and voices. Children are welcome with adult supervision. Recycling: Towanda Elks is accepting cans and bottles for recycling. The drop off location is in the barbecue pit.

You Too Animal Rescue, now located behind the Towanda Creek Animal Hospital, is open to the public for adoptions from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and 1 to 6 p.m. on Saturday. For adoptions by appointment, call (570) 721-0605.

Valley Youth Hunter Education Challenge Indoor .22 Rifle Shooting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays at the Towanda American Legion in the indoor shooting range. The New Albany Fire Company will host a pancake supper to benefit the Charles (Chuck) Keeney Scholarship Fund at the New Albany Social Hall from 4 to 7 p.m. The cost is $8 for adults; children 12 to five are $4.

The Troy Sale Barn will be hosting the Second Annual Winter Dinner / Dance Fundraiser from 6 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $40 and may be purchased from the First Citizens Bank, in Troy, any Troy Sale Barn operating corporation board member or Bill Bower at (570) 297-2943. Camptown Civic Club Meeting to begin the Historical Preservation Project. Work will begin at 5 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m., and the meeting at 7 p.m., Camptown Community Church. March for Life in Washington, D.C. – Charter bus sponsored by Bradford County Pennsylvanians for Human Life will depart Athens Township at 5 a.m., and will then stop in Wysox, Wyalusing, and Tunkhannock and return that night. The LeRoy Community Association is starting off the New Year with an organizational meeting and open house for the newly installed kitchen at 7 p.m. at 251 Mill St. in downtown LeRoy, Pa. Come see the amazing new kitchen and bring your ideas for another successful year.

A Spaghetti Supper will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Troy Fire Hall. The cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children; ages under five are free. Proceeds benefit the fire department.

The Endless Mountain Investment Club will hold its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. at the Great Wall Buffet Restaurant in Wysox. The Liberty Corners United Methodist Church All-You-Can-Eat Pancake Dinner, 5:30 p.m., Pathway Ministry Center, 105 Main St., Towanda. Prices are  $6 for adults and $3 for children under 12.

The Towanda Senior Citizens meet at noon at the Ferguson Hall at the Wysox Presbyterian Church when Ron Schoonover will entertain the club. Members are asked to bring a dish or packaged food item to share and their own table service. Tea and coffee are provided. If you are interested in joining, give Bob Whipple a call at (570) 265-9255. If the Towanda school district has a snow day, the meeting will be canceled.
