On Feb. 9, “The Snow Queen” will be presented at 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. at the Nelle Black Westgate Auditorium at Canton Jr. Sr. High School in Canton, Pa. Tickets are $7.00.
Journey with fun-loving Hobgoblins to the “land of colored ice” this as they tell the tale of a young girl and her quest to find her best friend. You may find yourself believing in malevolent mirrors, yetis, talking reindeer, and snow chickens when the Missoula Children’s Theatre and more than 40 local students perform an original musical adaptation of “The Snow Queen.”
The local cast features Gabrielle Spencer as Gerda; Gregory Osterhout as her best friend, Kay; and Madison McNeal-Buchannan as the Snow Queen. Samantha Morgan will play Gerda’s Grandma/Old Robber Woman, and Kylie Landon will play Kay’s Grandma/Lappish Woman.
The Gardner Woman/Finnish Woman will be Melanie Kropf. Taran Bellows plays Bae; Nathaniel Landon plays Yeti; Gwendolyn Wile plays Little Robber Girl; and
Mr. and Mrs. Royals will be Johnny Roberts and Emma Moyer. Aaron Seeley and Vayda Bryan will play the Prince and Princess.
The imaginative, fun-loving Hobgoblins are Riley Ault, Kira Good, Hunter Huffman, Rylan Huffman, Zaia Huffman, and Sophie Liddy.
The Snow Animals are Kanon Adams, Keira Coles, Aurora Groover, Kiarra Hoover, Maayke Inman, Lydia Rockwell, Lydia Roupp, Aleecia Seeley, and Jaylee Ward.
The Robbers will be played by Lucy Adams, Gabe Blaney, Cheyanne Fitch, David Groover, Alli Morgan, Stella Rockwell, Kiara Stone, Danah Wesneski, and Kathryn Wile.
The Snow Chickens are Evelyn Bellows, Jeremy Blaney, Kialynne Brown, Kendyl Hoover, Savannah Jackson, Xavierra Preston, Raya Preston, Peyton Taylor, Brenna VanNoy, and Benjamin Wile.
Serving as Assistant Directors will be Trenton Neitz and Madison Weadock.
