Rehearsals are underway for Troy Area Jr. / Sr. High School’s 2019 spring musical theater production. This year’s show, The Addams Family, is a new musical comedy by Marshall Brikman and Rick Elice with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa.
The Addams Family brings back the “creepy, kooky, mysterious, and spooky” family we all know and love, but in an original story that is every father’s nightmare.
Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family – a man her parents have never met. And if that weren’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother.
Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before – keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s ‘normal’ boyfriend and his parents.
Audience members of all ages can expect to laugh the whole night through as they join in the magnificently morbid “ooky” fun, and dangerously catchy tunes of The Addams Family.
Performances will be held in the Troy High School Memorial Auditorium on Friday, March 1 at 7:30 p.m., and again on Saturday, March 2 at 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
