Spurs set to host 21st annual NWTF Banquet

Send in your reservations now for the Armenia Mountain Spurs Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation’s (NTWFs) annual Hunting Heritage Banquet. Doors will open at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 29, at the Troy Fire Company for an exciting evening with raffles, auctions, and drawings. Share in fun and fellowship prior to the official opening ceremonies with dinner served at 6:30 p.m.

The NWTF is one of the nation’s foremost conservation organizations as it supports traditional hunting values, habitat restoration, special outdoor events for youth and women, and universal environment education programs across the country. This is only possible with your support. Your local spurs chapter has always gone far beyond those programs and makes donations to many varied community organizations here in Western Bradford County.

This past year the Spurs have been able to provide funding to the following: Troy Fair, Green Free Library, Archery in the schools, Troy Rod and Gun Club, BC Trophy Deer and Bear Club, Leroy Sportsmen’s Association, Troy Junior Sportsmen, Troy Fire Department, Troy Sale Barn, Pierce Library, Bradford County Library, Heritage Garden Club, the Troy Chamber of Commerce, Canton Rod and Gun Club, and Canton Fire Department.

Additionally, the Spurs fund scholarships for deserving youth and provide funding for food plot development on game lands through the donation of seed, fertilizer, and manpower. By attending this year’s banquet, you’ll be enjoying a rewarding and satisfying evening knowing you’re a part of this special event.

Close to 20 firearms will be up for grabs on raffles and drawings, along with a crossbow. Card games and games of chance, together with the always popular “grand slam”’ “box call,” “pick of the flock,” and other raffles will determine if you are a winner.

The evening will also feature a live and silent auction of unique items for your home or camp, collectibles, and much more. Special sportsmen, ladies, and Jakes (youth) drawings will certainly offer something of everyone. Become a sponsor and get a 1-in-10 chance to win a sponsor’s only drawing for a firearm. By a table for eight, and someone at your table is guaranteed to win a Winchester SXP 12 GA or Yeti cooler.
