Another play presented by England’s National Theatre Live will be shown at the Rialto Theatre in Canton on Saturday, April 13, at 12:30 p.m.
I’m Not Running is an explosive new play written by Academy Award-nominated writer, David Hare. It portrays Pauline Gibson who is a resident doctor and becomes the face of a campaign to save her local hospital.
She’s thrust from the National Health Service to becoming an independent Member of the British Parliament. While there she crosses paths with her college boyfriend, Jack Gould, a stalwart Labour loyalist who is climbing the ranks of his party.
As media and publics pressure mounts on Pauline to run for leadership of the Labour party, she faces an agonizing decision. Starring in the lead roles are Sian Brooke, Joshua Maguire and Alex Hassell.
