The Canton Chapter of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) recently attended the 2019 State Leadership Conference at Seven Springs Mountain Resort.
FCCLA is a Career and Technology Student Organization, which has Family as its main focus. FCCLA is partnered with the Family and Consumer Sciences curriculum at Canton Jr. / Sr. High School.
They are proud to announce that seven students competed in various star events and represented Canton very well. They received four Gold medals, one Silver medal and two bronze metals. Six students also received a national award for completing all five components of Power of One.
Advisor Maureen Martz also received honors as she was named Central Area Advisor of the Year. The four students who received Gold also qualified to attend the national leadership conference in late June in Anaheim, California.
Student Katlyn Krise finished up her term as State President and two other Canton Students, Lillian Chamberlain and Brittany Mosher will be joining the State Executive Council.
