Low cost eyeglass program is coming to Towanda

North Western PA Optical Clinic is a privately funded program that provides income eligible persons with eyeglasses for a cost of $40. This includes lined bifocals. No-lines are available at an additional cost. They also offer a solid tint.

You will select your frames from many they have in stock and have them measured for your lenses. You pay for your glasses at this time in cash or money order. They are shipped to their lab for assembly and then sent back to you by U.S. mail directly to your home.

Their base clinic site is at 903 Diamond St., Williamsport, Pa. Through this site they run satellite locations in Renovo, Lock Haven, Towanda, Scranton, Selinsgrove, Bloomsburg, Bellefonte, Tannersville, and Wellsboro. They try to set up visits to these areas every six to eight weeks. For dates, times and locations, call 1-800-901-1912.

The clinic will be coming to Towanda on Wednesday, May 8, at Career Link, located at 312 Main St. in Towanda, from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Walk-ins are welcome until 11:30 a.m.

You need to have your prescription and an appointment with them, and your payment in cash or money order.  Call 1-800-901-1912 or (570) 601-3399 for full information and to schedule appointments.

After this clinic there will be only two more clinics before the program closes for good.
