Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program underway

The Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program, which began on June 1, provides $20 in vouchers for fresh Pennsylvania produce to eligible seniors. You may qualify if you are a Pennsylvania resident age 60 or older, or turning 60 by Dec. 31, 2019, and meet income criteria. An individual with yearly income less than $23,107 and couples with combined yearly income less than $31,284 meets the income eligibility criteria. Recipients will be required to show proof of age and Pennsylvania residency. 

Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program vouchers are available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at B/S/S/T Area Agency on Aging, Inc. offices, with the Bradford County office located at 220 Main St., Unit 2 in Towanda. 

Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program vouchers will also be available in the community at the following events: June 10, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Wyalusing Active Living Center located at 62 Riverside Dr. in Wyalusing; June 14, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Sayre Farmer’s Market located at Howard Elmer Park in Sayre; June 18, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Dushore Active Living Center located at 135 N. German St. in Dushore; June 18, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Muncy Valley Active Living Center located at 1874 State Route 220 in Muncy Valley; June 19, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Warren Center Active Living Center located on Schoolhouse Road in Warren Center; June 19, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Troy Active Living Center located at 1072 Redington Ave. in Troy; June 20, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the 44th Annual Senior Picnic at Alparon Park in Troy; July 3, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Church of the Redeemer, located at 201 S. Wilbur Ave. in Sayre; July 8, 1 to 3 p.m. at the Valley Active Living Center located at 118 S. Main St. in Athens; July 11, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Gillett Active Living Center located on Route 14 in Gillett.
