At the June meeting of the Troy Firemen’s Auxiliary, held at the meeting room at the firehouse, three book grants were presented to the following: Carrie Brown (granddaughter of Keith and Jen Ayres), Jacob Hall (grandson of Larry and JoAnn Hall), and Nicole Spalding (granddaughter of Curt and Debbie Spalding).

This is the 21st year that the auxiliary has presented the book grants, which are available for children and grandchildren of active firemen and auxiliary members.

To receive a grant, recipients are required to fill out a form and write an essay on “Why Volunteering is Important for our Community?” Winners are picked at the May auxiliary meeting by secret ballot.

The annual donation to the fire department was also presented at the regular meeting in May; the department sent a nice thank you, as every donation helps keep the department one of the best in the county.

All the Auxiliary members would like to thank the community for the support over the past year.
