The Friends of Mt. Pisgah were happy to support two events to kick off the month of August.

On Thursday, Aug. 1, the Friends teamed up with Endless Mountains Outfitters to host the first Stargazer Paddle on Stephen Foster Lake. The event began with Derek Bouse and Lea Chissom-Chaffee from the Bradford County Library System reviewing the star guides and apps that can help gazers enjoy the constellations.

After a paddle on the lake (with a brief concert from the coyotes), everyone enjoyed the s’mores and bonfire with the volunteers from the Friends group. Approximately 30 adults and kids got to enjoy a great time under the stars.

The Friends of Mt. Pisgah State Park also welcomed a wonderful group of ladies on Saturday, Aug. 3 for the return of Women in the Wilds (WITW). The group enjoyed a day of good food, great information from new and previous instructors, and wonderful scenery. It was a relaxing time for the ladies to just focus on un-plugging electronics and re-energizing!
