The Heritage Garden Club of Troy is hosting a National Garden Clubs Small Standard Flower Show on Sept. 21-22 at the Heritage Village’s Mitchell House and Carriage House and during the annual PA Heritage Festival at Alparon Park.
The theme of the show is “Thyme after time.” The show will have a Design Division, Horticulture Division and an Educational Division.
The design class includes Petite, Traditional Mass and Creative Line. Members of the public are invited to enter the show. Contact Barb Andrus at (570) 297-3043 or Charlotte Lyon at (570) 297-4269 to obtain a rulebook with descriptions of the Classes.
All exhibits can be entered on Friday, Sept. 20 from 5 to 8 p.m.
There is one opening in each of the three Design Classes. The Roses Class in the Horticulture Division has three of the requirements: one, one single disbudded flower stem or a spray with at least two open blooms and several buds; two, designated by type or color, subdivided by cultivate, a minimum of two sets of leaves, each with five leaflets; and three, do not remove thorns above the waterline, no foliage below the waterline.
