The battle lines will be drawn, so to speak, as Old Mill Village Museum remembers the war between the states during its Civil War Weekend event planned for Oct. 5 and 6.
The village, located on Rte. 848 in New Milford, will look more like combat grounds than historic grounds when it is filled with soldiers’ encampments and battle reenactments. The participants, dressed in military attire representing both sides, are so true to their characters, and the battles look so real, that those attending will feel like they are actually in the throes of this 1860s war.
Reenactments will take place both days between noon and 5 p.m., during which time there will also be other activities, displays, and demonstrations taking place relating to the weekend’s theme.
