At Bridge for Literacy, a fundraiser to benefit the Bradford-Wyoming Co. Literacy Program, several bridge players recently took home top honors, as well as gift certificates from local restaurants.
Joan Gustin of Towanda was top scorer, followed by Dr. Ram Sharma of Sayre in second place. Donna Detrick of Sayre came in third place. Marc Alpert of Athens Township placed fourth.
The Bridge for Literacy event, a fun and informal card party, was held at the Patterson Building Auditorium on the Guthrie campus in Sayre. Jeffrey Dann was the tournament director of the Seventh Annual Bridge for Literacy. For those who are interested in learning to play bridge or brushing up on their bridge playing skills, contact Dann at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Bradford-Wyoming Co. Literacy Program, an affiliate of ProLiteracy, provides free and confidential “one to one” tutoring for adults and teenagers in basic reading, writing, math, and English as a Second Language. The program is also a member agency of the United Way of Bradford County.
