The Heritage Garden Club held its last meeting of the year and annual Christmas party on Dec. 9 at the Holy Trinity Church. Ten members attended, and husbands and guests were invited. All enjoyed a delicious dish to pass meal and deserts.
President Charlotte Lyon made lovely holiday table centerpieces of greens and flowers of red, green and white. Brenda Brewer and Fran Gardiner, who played a duet on the piano of cheery holiday songs, presented the evenings’ entertainment. The members gave them a table centerpiece and a gift from the gifts exchange.
All enjoyed the gift drawing as a variety of horticulture and Christmas gifts were brought. President Charlotte Lyon received the last special gift as she opened a new gavel.
A brief business meeting took place, with a motion made by Fran Gardiner to keep the 2020 Officers the same and was seconded; all in favor included President Charlotte Lyon, Vice-President Laura Steele, Secretary Holly Keegan and Treasurer Vivian Hall.
Thanks were given to all who helped decorate the Christmas tree at the Christmas at the Village event on Dec. 1. Also thanked were Ronnie and Sandy Kingsley for donating the Pine tree to decorate the town on the corner of Fenner Street, and the addition of the large wooden snowflakes on the lawn. The tree was decorated with the help of residents from the Martha Lloyd Facility.
A motion was made to give the Holy Trinity Church $50 for letting the club hold their meetings there for the year and was seconded; all approved.
President Charlotte Lyon adjourned the meeting with her new gavel around 8:50 p.m.
