German Schwartz, of College Grove, Tenn., and the grandson of Joey and Ellen Foust of Granville Summit, recently completed his first semester at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. 

Schwartz was recently selected as a member of the academy’s FalconSAT team and will assist with building, launching, and operating satellites for the Department of Defense this spring.

Schwartz plans to major in Astronautical Engineering while at the academy. He graduated magna cum laude from Fred Page High School in Franklin, Tenn. last May, where he served as student body president. 

Schwartz is the son of Thaddeus and Jennifer (Foust) Schwartz of College Grove, Tenn., and the grandson of Joey and Ellen Foust of Granville Summit.
