North Street Community Church will once again be hosting Griefshare, a weekly grief seminar/support group. The 13-week cycle will begin on Tuesday, Aug. 18. Some of the lessons include – The Journey of Grief, Why, Grief and Your Relationships, Guilt and Anger and What Do I Live For Now. Because each lesson is self-contained, you can join the group at any time.
This is a non-denominational program featuring Christ-centered, biblical teaching. The DVD seminar features respected grief experts, counselors and real-life stories, followed by a short time of discussion. Each participant receives a workbook for note taking and personal reflection.
Many grieving people find they are only beginning the work of healing when friends and family have returned to their daily routines. Participants will find encouragement, comfort and help in grieving the death of a spouse, child, parent, other family member or friend.
No matter what the cause of your loved one’s death, this is an opportunity to be around people who understand what you are feeling. You will learn how to recognize the symptoms of being stuck in grief and that you do not need to live in bondage to your emotions. You will learn valuable information about facing your new normal and renewing your hope for the future.
Any community member who has lost a loved one through death is invited to attend GriefShare, which will be held at North Street Community Church, 177 North St., Canton, Pa. They will meet on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 8 p.m. from Aug. 18 to Nov. 10.
