The Armenia Mountain Spurs Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation has rescheduled its annual banquet for Saturday, Aug. 29. Due to COVID-19 health guidelines, this year’s banquet will feature an open-air format.
To take advantage of outdoor daylight conditions for maximum social distancing, the festivities will begin at 2:30 p.m. and dinner at 4:30 p.m. at the Troy Fire Company.
The banquet will again feature all of the traditional offerings, just modifying the presentation of everyone’s health and well being. Games of chance, raffles, live and silent actions provide excitement and entertainment throughout the event. Special drawings for veterans, ladies and jakes (youth) set the stage for the huge sportsman raffle, which features something for everyone.
Over twenty (20) firearms, some limited additions, will find their way to new homes of our lucky winners. You may go home that night with a crossbow, smoker, custom artwork, wildlife prints, or a variety of items for your home or camp.
In a press release, the organizers wrote, “The NWTF needs your support now more than ever. The impact of the current pandemic has put the future of the nation’s leading independent conservation organization in doubt. If you have never attended a banquet or have not done so recently, as fellow sportsmen and conservationist we are asking for your support.”
For the continued health of the community and the NWTF, they are asking everyone to mask up and sign up by Aug. 22 to take advantage of the early bird opportunities. Contact David Levan at (570) 297 4224 for more information.
