Classic Cars and Trucks are invited to the weekly Troy Town Cruisers Cruise-In in Troy, Pa. each Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. through the end of September.


Welcome back to school walk and history program, 7 p.m., Lockhart Street Bowl in Sayre; 8 p.m. Sayre Historian Jim Nobles presenting community history.

Shine the Light on Racism: A Black Lives Matter Community Event and Children’s March, 6 p.m., Howard Elmer Park in Sayre. Bring facemasks and signs. Event will be socially distanced.

Towanda Area Senior Citizens Club Picnic, noon, Wysox River Access pavilion by the river. Members are reminded to bring a dish to share, own table service, beverage, tablecloth and lawn chair.

CANCELLED: The LeRaysville-Pike Volunteer Fire Department’s annual Labor Day activities, including its Minstrel Show, are cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Organizers hope to bring back these events for 2021.

“Feed My Sheep” Food Pantry, 9 a.m. to noon, Athens United Methodist Church, 118 S Main St., Athens. Small supply of basic groceries available for residents of Athens, Sayre school districts. Registration, I.D. required. Distribution will be in large parking lot. Don’t get out of your vehicle. 

Free Fellowship Meal, 4 to 6 p.m., Athens United Methodist Church, 118 S. Main St., Athens.  Take out only dinner will be available from the Valley Kiwanis Club. Pick up is from the parking lot. Please stay in your vehicle.  


Canton’s Classic Car Show, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., registration begins at 4:30 p.m. Main Street Park, Canton. Cars will park in the rear of Chemung Canal Trust & Main Street Park. Free admission. 2020 Sportsman Banquet Extravaganza, starts at 1 p.m. with dinner at 5 p.m. and a guest speaker at 6 p.m., North Rome Wesleyan Church, 3374 N. Rome Rd., Rome, Pa. Free event. Crossbow grand door prize. Guest speaker is MLB baseball legend and hunter Sid Bream. Fifth Annual Valley Walk Against Suicide, 11 a.m. at Riverfront Park in Sayre. Registration is at 10 a.m. Donations will be accepted and help fund the event. Donations can also be mailed to Valley Suicide Prevention and Awareness, 1766 Elmira St., #204, Sayre, Pa. 18840.

Take Out Dinner, 3:30 p.m., South Creek Lions Hall, Route 14 in Gillett, Pa.  

The menu includes roast beef and turkey, real mashed potatoes, vegetable, baked beans, fresh baked bread and dessert. The cost is $12. Guests are asked to social distance at the door while waiting admittance, and one inside the Lions Hall to wear a mask. 


CANCELLED: The Wysox Rabies Clinic held at the former Wysox ambulance grounds has been canceled this year due to COVID.
