Drive-Thru Food event planned for October 20 in Ulster

On Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 11 a.m., a drive-thru food give away event will be held at Harnish Farms, located at 7202 Sheshequin Rd. in Ulster. Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (C.F.A.P.) government-funded grants are making it possible for community organizations to provide free food to those in need.

Pennsylvania dairy farmers, through American Dairy Association North East (ADANE), are working with USDA-approved vendor SYSCO, as well as other community organization recipients including Bradford County; the Troy VFW; Lynn Shedden, a local, retired Dairy farmer and Vietnam Veteran; and Eric and Lynette from Harnish Farms and their families.

They will be distributing approximately 27,000 pounds of food at the Oct. 20 event. There will be 800 food boxes, each containing about 34 pounds worth of food including one gallon of milk and an assortment of dairy, produce and meat items.

Each vehicle will receive one box, while supplies last.
