Guthrie recognizes new hearing loss trends among patients during pandemic

As National Audiology Awareness Month comes to a close, Guthrie is highlighting a new trend that providers have noticed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The National Institutes of Health’s National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders states that approximately 28.8 million Americans could benefit from the use of hearing aids. While age is often cited as a factor, there are growing numbers of younger people reporting hearing loss.

Guthrie Audiologist, Dr. Kyle Conrad, explains in the following video link that an increased number of patients have reported issues with hearing while masking and social distancing requirements remain in effect. Conrad gives tips for caregivers and family members and shares more on what we can all do to protect our hearing.
