For over ten years I have gotten to know so many of you in Bradford County through the Troy Pennysaver. As my husband said to me, “The Pennysaver is an icon of Bradford County and you’ve been a part of it.”
I agree with him, but I couldn’t have been a part of that icon without you.
All of you that I interviewed, and all of you who looked forward to my stories every week; all of you who stopped me in the grocery store to say, “I’ve got a story for you.”
That’s right. They weren’t really my stories. They were yours. I just provided the avenue for you to share those incredible stories with others. And the Pennysaver was the vehicle that delivered them.
I thank all of you for the last ten plus years. For the notes and phone messages to let me know how much you appreciated the stories. And thanks for encouraging me to write more.
This is the last issue of the Troy Pennysaver Plus, but you haven’t heard the last from me. I hope to continue to write. You may see me in the Bradford County Living magazine and occasionally the Owego Pennysaver and The Daily & Sunday Review.
And for those of you who are familiar with my book, The People of Bradford County, look for the next one – The People of Bradford County, Leaving a Legacy. It will contain the rest of the stories.
For now, I hope you enjoyed reading my last story. And I will close the same as Nancy Zieman always did.
Bye for now.
