4-H Has Gone to the Dogs
The 4th Annual 4-H Pet and Dog Show was held on July 27 during the Troy Fair. Twenty-six 4-Hers exhibited pets including two rats, one cat, one rabbit, and 22 dogs. The show began with a pet parade around the fairgrounds for a people’s choice vote, then on to fun classes and more serious classes of grooming and handling, dog obedience and dog agility.
There were several memorable moments during the show as the demonstration dog ate a cookie left on the arena floor, and a dog almost escaped through an open gate. But fun was had by all as 4-Hers jumped for joy to receive their awards. All 1st through 6th place exhibitors received a ribbon, and the 1st place individual received a pet grooming kit.
Winners included: Pet Parade – Elyse Elsbree; Best Pet – Dylan Stone; Smartest Owner – Victoria Pazzaglia; Best Trick – Sydney Hannan; Most Loveable – Devon Whalen; Best Dressed – Victoria Pazzaglia; Photo Contest – Stephanie Pazzaglia; Basic Obedience – Dylan Stone; Beginners Agility – Stephanie Pazzaglia; and Advanced Agility – Elyse Elsbree.
