BCHS needs foster home for Charlie
Bradford County Humane Society is in need for a rescue group to re-home, or a foster home to help Charlie, who has been in their shelter for over eight months. Charlie is an intelligent Pit Bull that had fallen on very hard times before he was picked up running on a major highway by kind people, and then dropped off at the shelter. Charlie clearly had been running a long time as he was covered in mud and very thin. After spending several months at the animal shelter, Charlie has grown to adjust to his environment and protects his territory as people walk by. A place that, for most, is just temporary has turned into what he knows to be home.
The shelter, The Bradford Humane Society is located along the northern tier of Pennsylvania. They are a private, non-profit organization that was established in 1960. As with many humane facilities, they found that Pit Bull types are more difficult to re-home.
Charlie spends most of his day in a cage, watching wagging tails, one by one, leave the shelter on their way to their new home. Outside of his cage, Charlie loves to play and fetch.
Jenna Arsenault owner of Arsenault K-9 is an experienced trainer / handler who works as the shelter’s dog trainer and behaviorist. Jenna has spent a great deal of time with Charlie both professionally and personally. Jenna wants Charlie to have a new lease on life with a forever home that has a deep love and understanding of Pit Bull types. Jenna personally paid to have Charlie neutered. Charlie is quite handsome with a great deal of depth to his personality.
“Charlie is really just a wiggly goofball with a huge heart. He will be forever faithful and loyal to the perfect person,” Arsenault said of Charlie. “He has been a pleasure to work with and I have become quite fond of his energy and enthusiasm to learn new things. We know the right person is out there for Charlie. We just have to find that special person who is familiar with the breed that can really get to know Charlie and give him the home and attention he needs. Charlie loves to lay out back in the sun with his head on your lap. He is affectionate and has most basic obedience commands completed. Charlie walks nice on a leash, knows sit, shake, down & roll over. He has extremely high food drive and is extremely eager to learn. Charlie gets along with most dogs, especially females, and is crate trained / housebroken.
As with all of our dogs, BCHS wants to see them go to the best homes. Please consider helping them with Sir Charles. For more information call (570) 888-2114, or visit www.bradfordchs.petfinder.org.
