The Thursday Study Club of Troy met for their Dec. 17 meeting at the first United Methodist Church in Troy. Thirty-one of its 40 members were in attendance. Refreshment committee members Cheryl Torres, Peg Cobleigh, Dorothy Cooke, Mary Slingerland and Jeanne Applegate served carrot cake with tea and coffee. The program was presented by Nancy Bendinsky of Wyalusing, Pa. Nancy has a three octave bell collection. She rang several Christmas carols including Silent Night, O Little Town of Bethlehem, Bring a Torch and others. She also played "O Holy Night" on the French Horn. Fran Gardiner, president, conducted the business meeting. The beautification committee reported about the Christmas decorations in town. The Case Fund reimbursed the committee for the decorations. The group sang Happy Birthday to those celebrating birthdays in December. The group also sang the Twelve Days of Christmas. Abby Werlock, vice president, announced the Jan. 21 meeting will be held at the First Presbyterian Church. Their program will feature a Chief Executive Officer of Martha Lloyd as a speaker.
